Has A Child Been Molested?
Published in Paperback by Berkeley Creek Productions (04 February, 2000)
Authors: Lee Coleman, Patrick E. Clancy, and Joanne Yates
Average review score:

The Question is more Important than the Answer
"Has a Child Been Molested" belongs in every criminal defense lawyer's library if you are going to represent clients accused of child molesting. This book will educate the attorney to be aware of issues and problems that are unique to these cases and that without the insights of Dr. Coleman and Mr. Clancy one can easily overlook to the client's ultimate detriment. The highest compliment I can pay to the book and its authors is that it made me a better lawyer and allowed me to represent my clients more effectively. As a criminal defense lawyer with over 20 years of experience, I can strongly recommend Dr. Coleman as a powerful expert witness for the defense in child sexual abuse cases. His testimony on issues such as suggestability of child witnesses, syndrome evidence, an rebutting false claims of physical evidence of abuse is absolutely necessary if these cases are to be presented effectively and fairly to juries. This book covers all the major issues of mental health, medicine, and interview techniques that constantly appear in child molest cases. The book points out how doctors and therapists have been corrupted to apply their professional expertise in the name of saving the abused child based on the presumption that "children never lie" about these things. Dr. Coleman and Mr. Clancy point out how this movement to save the children got started and how it has been allowed to run wild through our criminal justice system. More importantly, they provide information and guidance that will allow the reader to understand what is happening and how to prevent the misuse of medicine and psychiatry in the courtroom. Anyone truly interested in seeing the truth come out in a courtroom cannot afford to ignore this truly important work.

Extremely helpful for an understanding of the problem
Dr.Coleman's book provided me valuable insight while I was involved in the difficult task of representing a client accused of molesting his 9 year old daughter. The unfair investigative techniques and psychiatric myths foisted upon our juries in these cases are unravelled by Dr. Coleman's careful analysis of the issues. The straightforward explanantions by Dr. Coleman make this book a must for every lawyer defending these difficult cases. DAN BURLAND Esq. San Jose CA

I Want Burning: The Ecstatic World of Rumi, Hafiz, and Lalla
Published in Audio CD by Sounds True (April, 2001)
Author: Coleman Barks
Average review score:

Yes, Yes, Yes
Delicious. Uplifting. Reaffirming. Intoxicating. Necessary. (In other words: Get it, sit down, listen!)

Room For Rumi and Friends
If you are an admirer of the poetry of Rumi and the translations Coleman Barks, you will love this CD collection. In addition to Rumi, there are selections from two additional poets, Hafiz and Lalla, both of which compliment the selections from Rumi. Some of the readings are accompanied by music. Mr. Barks reads his translations in a relaxed and jovial manner, which displays his genuine affection for the works read.

This recording was made before a live audience and therefore lacks the polish of a studio recording, but makes up for it with the charm of being live and alive. There is no text of the poetry with the CD and the only liner notes are a brief bio of Coleman Barks.

If you are unfamiliar with the poetry of Rumi, this CD would be a good place to start. Rumi's poetry reflects his unabashed love for God, but without the hindrance of doctrinal constraints; it is spiritual without being religious.

Very good information!
I was at Fire Support Base Illingsworth on 1 April 1970, April Fools Day, that the author describes in his book. His account is so accurate it was hard for me to read it. I thought back on my experience for days!

True account of 1st Cav Ops in 1969-70
Having served as an infantryman in the 2nd of the 8th Cav during 1970, I can attest to the true to life account of 1st Air Cav operations in III Corps as described by the author.

La inteligencia emocional
Published in Paperback by Javier Vergara, Editor, S.A (20 October, 1999)
Authors: Daniel Coleman and Daniel Goleman
Average review score:

muy interesante
La Inteligencia Emocional. Daniel Goleman

Marilyn Ferguson's Book of Pragmagic
Published in Paperback by Pocket Books (October, 1990)
Authors: Wim Coleman, Pat Perrin, Kristin Ferguson, Claire Zion, and Marilyn Ferguson
Average review score:

Something to think about
Alright, there are MILLIONS of self-help style books out there, but this one strikes me as being a little different. Rather than push one particular theory or deal with one particular aspect of behaviour, it is a collection of theories for a variety of things. A good book to dip into, as, although not a huge book, it is also a lot to take on board all at once. I keep going back to it and discovering something new. You may not end up the perfect person after reading this, but it is certainly thought-provoking, and you'll look at people around you in a new light.

Great Behavior Management Tool
I am a Narcolepsy Patient (Sleep Disorder). This effects my ability not only to stay awake but to concentrate and learn, my memory and language skills are greatly effected as well. This book enabled me to list my positive and negative skills and use both to improve my life. Finding keys to opening different parts of my mind at different times of the day, using common items such as sound, color, texture to stimulate my brain functions. PragMagic is well written, and scientifically proven facts and illustrations are given as help guides. Personal stories and reference to Professionals in all areas make this book a keepsake. I am sure you will enjoy just briefly reading some of the poems and articles that have been included also.

MBA's Guide to the Internet: The Essential Internet Reference for Business Professionals
Published in Paperback by Redmond Technology, Inc. (December, 2000)
Authors: Stephen L. Nelson and Pat Coleman
Average review score:

A Thorough and Useful Tool for Online Efficiency
This book includes a wealth of information on how to maximize the time you spend on the internet: a characteristic I find vitally important, because, as we all know, it's easy to spend hours looking for something online yet finding nothing. The book is well organized, and the index makes it easy to search for different topics of interest. The book will be of most use to someone who wants detailed information about different facets of the internet. For example, Nelson and Coleman outline the strengths and weaknesses of different search engines and services. They also include great information about government websites that help in researching information about businesses and demographics. The book even has information about how to design your own e-mail newsletter or put PowerPoint presentations online. Certainly, everyone won't need a 720-page guide to the internet, but I can see how it will be a useful tool for me.

A Timely and Realistic Guide to eCommerce
The MBA's Guide to the Internet describes itself in the Introduction as "the only book that specifically describes how you can more easily, more productively, and more powerfully use the Internet in business." While I'm not sure about it being the only book that attempts these goals, I know that it is the only book, of the many that I have read, that does a thorough job of it.

For the casual Internet user, this book is overkill. There are others that are shorter and more directed to the occasional surfing expedition.

However, this one is targeted specifically to a business market with timely and realistic discussions of just about everything you would want to know about the important role that the World Wide Web can play in the success of businesses today. Discussions on Setting Up a Web Store, Setting Up an Intranet, Online Banking, Online Investing and more make it a valuable manual for businesses already involved or just getting started with eCommerce.

Mercurochrome
Published in Hardcover by Black Sparrow Press (July, 2001)
Author: Wanda Coleman
Average review score:

Addendum.
Ms. Coleman's powerful collection MERCUROCHROME has just been nominated for the National Book Award in poetry. Quite an honor. Her last collection of poetry, BATHWATER WINE (Black Sparrow, 1998) won the 1999 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, and her memoir LOVE-INS WITH NIETZSCHE (Wake Up Heavy, 2000) was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. It seems the literary world is standing up and taking note of one of our greatest modern poets.

One of America's Best Writers!!
Wanda Coleman has been publishing with Black Sparrow Press for nearly 25 years, which is amazing since she's only 55, and looks much younger than that. Even more amazing than the devotion she and BSP share, is the strength and vitality encompassed in each new volume they produce together. MERCUROCHROME, her latest, may be in fact her best. It is not too long, as the review above would suggest (her last collection of poems is nearly three years old now so there's plenty to print), nor is the power diluted. On the contrary, Coleman's voice is as strong as ever. And as diverse. I don't know if I've ever read a collection of sonnets or transliterations of mainly dead-white guys, that was so compelling. This book is as red-hot as the title suggests. Huzzah Wanda Coleman! P.S. I also wanted to praise the wonderful cover design by Barbara Martin on this, and so many other Black Sparrow books.
